- 1 and a half pounds of shrimp, peeled and deveined, medium size
- black pepper that has been freshly ground, to taste, together with kosher salt
- five whole garlic cloves, minced
- a quarter of a cup of chicken stock
- Lemon juice from one or more lemons, to taste
- 2 tablespoons of fresh parsley leaves that have been chopped
Instruction:
- Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium high heat. To taste, add in the shrimp and season with salt and pepper. Cook until pink, about 2–3 minutes, stirring periodically; remove from heat and put aside.
- Add the garlic to the pan and heat it while stirring it constantly for approximately a minute, or until the aroma of the garlic is released. Mix in some lemon juice and chicken stock while stirring. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and continue to simmer until the liquid has been reduced by about half, about 1-2 minutes. Mix in the remaining six tablespoons of butter, one spoonful at a time, until the butter is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Add the shrimp and mix everything together using a light touch.
- Serve immediately, and if wanted, garnish with parsley leaves as a finishing touch.

- Doubled the recipe. I sautéed onion and garlic and used more garlic than called for. I added spinach and cherry tomatoes before adding lemon and seasonings. I added noodles to soak up the sauce with the shrimp. Delicious, I'd cook it again.
- Without pasta, I boiled lasagna and chopped it into noodles. Added additional garlic and red pepper flakes for spice. I'll add more butter next time.
