top sand lime bricks advantages and disadvantages in masonry building

For many people, buying bricks at the right price is very important; Therefore, it can be stated that according to the way of formation and raw materials in this brick, the price of sand-lime brick is cheaper than other construction materials, and in these economic conditions, many people started using it. Another type of brick is lime brick. Sand-lime brick is a type of brick in which water, silica and quicklime (coa) are used. Lime bricks were first produced industrially in Germany in 1884, and after England, the suppliers of this product grew all over the world. Ajr online website (website selling bricks all over Iran) will guide you more by introducing the specifications and features of this product. Features of sand-lime brick Lime bricks are different from other earthen and artificial bricks, and for that reason they have their own unique characteristics, some examples of which are mentioned below Sound and heat insulation This brick can prevent sound from entering the house and is also a good insulator for air transfer. A unique type of brick has been invented in order to prevent sound pollution from entering inside, called sound insulation brick, to learn more about it, read the related article. saudi sand lime bricks and building Low production cost There is a lot of windy sand in coastal cities, so the price of sand-lime bricks in these cities can be considered very economical. Compressive resistance of sand-lime bricks against chemicals and moisture Lime and silica have good resistance against water, humidity and most sulfates, but it should be noted that these bricks are not resistant to magnesium and ammonium sulfate like Portland cement. Resistance to cold and freezing and high pressure Because they are produced under high pressure, limestone bricks have good compressive strength, and their strength reaches 200 MPa after baking. The beauty and regularity of the dimensions of limestone bricks and Kazakh bricks Due to the type of molding and the low percentage of contraction and expansion, the dimensions of the sand-lime brick are regular and uniform, and its white color has given a special effect to this brick. Not having the percentage of contraction and expansion in traditional Kazakh brick is one of the most obvious features of this type of Kazakh brick. Also, you can see different color charms in the Kazakh facade brick. Sand-lime brick is basically a white brick, but it can be mixed with other pigments, so you can make this brick with a color that suits your taste. Application of lime brick According to the basic ingredients and the way sand-lime bricks are baked, they can withstand good pressure, so they can be used in load-bearing walls. The resistance of this brick is very low in salty and acidic environments. Also, due to high water absorption, they are not suitable for foundation in salt marsh lands. It is interesting to know, if limestone bricks are used for wall construction, the combination of bricks with carbon dioxide after a few years can produce limestone, which makes the wall stronger.

benefits: Brick is a durable material and has a long shelf life. The facing brick is usually fireproof and can withstand high temperatures. Bricks do not need to be painted to protect the environment. Problems with individual bricks can be solved without the need to demolish and rebuild the entire structure. Due to its availability, clay greatly reduces the cost of production and transportation. This can mean that construction using brick as a material may be less expensive than using stone, concrete or steel. Disadvantages: Construction using bricks is time-consuming. It can break under high seismic pressure Since facing bricks absorb water easily, it may cause lack of air flow Lower tensile strength. Cleaning brick surfaces is a difficult task. Bricks are vital to construction and are often the cornerstone of most constructions. In these modern days, the types of bricks used in building construction have been refined with better strength and durability, all at a lower cost. Traditional bricks or dried bricks are the first and most basic type of brick. The process of making these bricks lies in its name. It does not burn but dries in the sun to harden, often used in rural areas or temporary construction. They are not strong enough, reduce fire and water resistance, and hence are the best option when it comes to temporary structures on our list for the types of bricks used in construction. It is produced using concrete with materials such as cement, sand and water. They can be made as bricks of any type and size. Using concrete bricks over clay bricks means they can be easily produced on a construction site. This can also help reduce the amount of mortar required for construction. Another common and relatively popular type of brick used in construction. Especially for strength, cold resistance and fire resistance, engineering bricks are used. Mostly used for basements, where more than average chemical and water resistance is required. They are also known for their low porosity. Resistance option among the types of bricks used in construction. Made using sand and lime, it is commonly known as sand-lime brick. These bricks are used in the construction sector for several purposes and are one of the primary types of bricks used in India. Works of art, including decorative works on buildings, include sand-lime or calcium silicate bricks. Fire bricks: Also known as firebrick. Produced by earthing process with special design. After burning, it can withstand very high temperatures due to its fire resistance properties. All this is done without affecting the demands, shape, size and power. Therefore, it is one of the common types of bricks in India, especially in rural and dry areas. Community Verified icon Jama brick is also known as over-fired brick or frozen brick because it is fired at a higher temperature and for a longer period of time compared to normal bricks. The shape is distorted but it has a higher absorption capacity and the strength is significantly higher than or equal to a first class brick. It is often used in the construction of slabs and beams using concrete where it is not normally exposed to water. About a third of the weight of ordinary bricks, as the name suggests, is hollow inside, these bricks are also called cellular or cavity bricks. These bricks are widely used for rapid construction because they can be laid much faster than ordinary bricks. These bricks are also used for partitioning in the construction process.

Hi, we live in a 1970s block of flats, constructed of sand lime bricks. These have started to show signs of erosion and in some places are breaking down. We have used a concrete sealant product however, this has not stopped the breaking down of the bricks erosion. Are you able to suggest any products that may help?
