We strive to continually reevaluate all of this as we continue to learn. This year we designed our logo by removing culturally acceptable symbols.
- Design Partnership. As a footwear company, our design partnerships offer talented artists, designers, and designers the opportunity to be recognized for their work. We are looking to partner with local indigenous artists/designers and are currently exploring potential partners for future collections. One of our first collaborative projects (launching in December 2021) will be with our reconciliation consultant Adrienne Benjamin, an artist Anishinaabe from Minnesota.

We were born in York in 1971, to Katherine Paver, a very ambitious mother to be proud of, who took out a £200 bank loan (she told them for a nice sofa!) to fund it to satisfy his new business interest in finding the right one. We started small, in the village hallways and at house parties, and with the desire to make and sell good-looking shoes, our business began to grow. Katie was later joined by her sons, Graham, Stewart CEO and Ian, who contributed to the family business and this desire, drive and desire to be a leader in nurturing stylish yet high quality footwear. Our company Pavers Shoes is now one of the largest shoe retailers in the UK with a focus on quality and value. We opened our first store in Scarborough, followed by York, Hall and Newcastle! We’ve grown and matured, our dedicated team of buyers travel the world to create our amazing shoes, and now with over 130 stores in the UK and Eyre, you can choose from within our comfort zone and don’t forget your favorites.

Paver and environment We are proud of our British heritage and we are pleased to still call York our home, with all our HQ departments located here, and to ship all our footwear direct to our stores and from our base in Yorkshire to our customers. While everyone needs a minor renovation at least once, in October 2006 our headquarters and warehouse were relocated and expanded, with Catherine House serving as our eco-friendly headquarters and state-of-the-art art distribution center. 
We don't just care about our customers' feet. This is also our own and we are very concerned about our carbon footprint and the impact we have on the environment. When energy is used, we find that it produces carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that change the climate. So we have the latest technology at our head office with which we can give something back. In 2011, we installed a renewable energy system and installed solar panels on the roof of our warehouse to generate some of our own electricity, which can now generate up to 25% of the electricity needed at headquarters and in the warehouse. We can put it back on the grid and use energy-efficient lighting with a motion sensors and rainwater harvesting systems. In partnership with One Carbon World, the global resource of the United Nations Climate Neutral Initiative, the Pavers Company's current carbon footprint was published and with the support of the Pavers Foundation, we funded all emissions. Purchased through Certified Carbon Credits with support from One Carbon World. 90% of our carbon credits are used to support the Uruguayan Guanare project, a 100-year afforestation project in Uruguay. The project aims to transform degraded grasslands into beneficial forest plantations that will help the planet adapt to changing climates, providing critical storm water capture, and habitats for wildlife.
