Important Elements and Substitutes
To reduce the carbohydrate content, I used low-carb zucchini noodles and all-natural ingredients. Dietarily, this is an excellent meal! Learn more about the tools I used below.
Simply feed zucchini through a spiralizer to produce zucchini noodles. Alternately, prepare frozen zucchini noodles according the instructions on the box. You may replace spaghetti squash or any other kind of vegetable noodle.
To sauté the vegetables, olive oil is required. In the absence of olive oil, avocado oil or ghee may be used as a replacement.
Use any kind of onion you prefer—white, red, or yellow. Carrot: Cut the carrot into very little pieces. It should be well combined with the sauce.
Reduce the fat content of the meal by using ground turkey that is at least 93% lean. Although ground turkey breast will do in a hurry, I would suggest switching to a leaner ground meat such as pig or beef. You may also substitute ground turkey or beef.
Fresh garlic adds a great deal of flavor, although garlic powder can do in a hurry. Utilize crushed canned tomatoes. It is feasible to smash tomatoes by hand, but it will take much longer.
Use either store-bought Italian seasoning or my recipe to build your own.
Consider coconut aminos as a Whole30-compliant or gluten-free replacement to Worcestershire sauce that retains the sauce's characteristic umami taste. Try to locate Worcestershire sauce that does not contain gluten, if at all possible.
The greatest taste comes from freshly grated Parmesan cheese at home. If you are following the Whole30 diet, cheese should be avoided. By replacing nutritional yeast for dairy, a cheese flavor may be obtained without dairy.
The taste of fresh basil is substantially more intense than that of dried basil. Whenever feasible, you should attempt to get fresh basil.

Questions & Answers
I'm often asked the following questions, so I decided to answer them here. What distinguishes bolognese sauce from conventional spaghetti sauce?
The city of Bologna, Italy, is credited as being the origin of this meal. In the United States, beef spaghetti sauce is often prepared with a tomato base and may be watery. Bolognese is often less tomato-forward, creamier, and more viscous than conventional Italian red sauce. You may argue that this sauce blends the two ingredients.
Should the lid be on or off while spaghetti sauce simmers?
I believe that the sauce tastes best when heated slowly and uncovered. This will cause it to shrink while cooking, which will improve the flavor.
Where should I store the remaining sauce?
Keep any sauce you do not use immediately in an airtight jar in the refrigerator. It may be kept for a week without losing taste. Additionally, you should utilize a leak-proof container. If this were to leak or spill, quite a stir would ensue.
The sauce should be refrigerated in an airtight container, while the noodles or zoodles should be stored separately. In this method, it will be more durable.
Why then are my zucchini noodle meals usually so watery?
Typically, zucchini noodles get watery due to overcooking. In other words, zucchini will release more water the longer it is boiled.
