At the time of being on sale, women can find the cheapest types of earth shoes. The train of sentimentality keeps rolling down the tracks. Windsong Global LLC and Hilco Brands have acquired a majority ownership in Earth Origins, the company that holds the trademark for Earth Shoes, which was a popular shoe brand in the 1970s. Hilco Brands is also a shareholder in Earth Origins. It was not made clear what the terms of the deal were. The most recent investment that Windsong's existing platform has made was in Earth, a company that has been in the business of producing comfortable footwear for more than half a century. The brand acquired the Swims brand in October of 2020. In addition, it is the owner of the Daytona Apparel Group, which is a manufacturer of socks, underwear, and loungewear; Lilah B, a beauty brand; the Robeez children's brand; and other brands in the health and wellness industry. There are also rumors that it is the stalking horse for the footwear company known as Aquatalia, which is currently held by the faltering Global Brands Group. The long-standing tradition of family ownership of Earth Origins has come to an end as a result of Windsong's involvement in the company. When Michel Meynard immigrated to the United States from France in 1965, he immediately began selling machinery to shoe factories in the New England area. This is how the firm got its start. After another five years, he established Michel Meynard, a footwear maker with a private label that would subsequently be rebranded as Meynard Designs. The acquisition of the Earth footwear trademark and subsequent rebranding of the company as Earth Brands took place in the year 2002. Philippe, Meynard's son, had taken over leadership of Earth Origins when his father passed away in 2013. Meynard had died in 2013. Mark Parsley, a veteran of the shoe industry who was recently raised to the position of chief executive officer of Earth, stated that the Meynard family was seeking to depart the brand and ended up going through an extensive search to find the ideal partner to continue the business and help boost future growth. Parsley was referring to the Meynard family's decision to sell the brand. According to Parsley, "we spoke with a number of private equity investors in addition to the Windsong team," and "their grasp of our industry was what set them apart from all of the other options. " "We knew it was a wonderful fit for us and that we'd discovered a partner who believed in the same goal for the company," you say. "We knew it was a perfect replacement for us." "Earth has established itself as a prominent and trusted brand in the comfort footwear category," said William Sweedler, chairman and CEO of Windsong Global. "I believe tremendous expansion prospects exist across new classifications and categories," said Sweedler. I am incredibly grateful that the Meynard family has decided to become a part of the Windsong portfolio, and I cannot wait to build upon their foundation. According to Parsley, preparations had already been made for a number of relaunches at Earth over the next few seasons even before the deal was finalized this week. This includes the very first version of the Earth Shoe, which is still available for purchase but will henceforth be sold as a Kalso by Earth product beginning in the spring. Anna Kalso, a yoga instructor from Denmark, came up with the idea for the shoe in the late 1950s. It became famous for having a "negative heel," which referred to a sole that was thinner at the heel than it was at the forefoot. The shoes made their debut in the United States in 1970, just in time for the very first Earth Day, and were almost immediately adopted by the counterculture before becoming popular with the general public. Because of the overwhelming demand for the shoe, the factory was forced to shut down in 1977, and the business lay dormant for the next decade until it was acquired by Meynard. According to Parsley, the aim is to relaunch a wholesale and e-commerce collection under the name Kalso for the upmarket shoes that are created in Portugal and retail for $180 to $200. The collection will be sold under the Kalso brand name. According to what he had to say, "we think there's definitely a potential for us." The line of contemporary, savvily styled casual shoes that make up Earth footwear is designed with real women's day-to-day activities in mind. To develop a collection that adds a revitalizing new spin to footwear, Earth footwear mixes modern fashion with uncompromising comfort to create a collection. This collection gives ladies the ability to look and feel their best even while they are on the move. Walk the Earth as Your World. The original concept for this comfort feature was devised by Anne Kalso in the 1950s, and it was only available on the legendary Kalso Earth Shoe. It was modeled after her work.
