What is the best panton chair?
The history of panton products dates back to the latter half of the 1950s when Danish designer Verner Panton developed the idea of a cantilever chair. They offer chairs of high-quality.

Despite this, the manufacturers decided not to pursue this risky concept any further.
Willi Fehlbaum, the founder of Vitra, had an interest in the concept, but he didn't agree to move forward with it until his son Rolf and the company's head of product development, Manfred Diebold, visited Verner Panton and came back raving about their experience.
One day, Rolf Fehlbaum, a member of the founding family of Vitra, paid us a visit, and while he was here, he noticed a prototype of the Panton chair.
You couldn't sit on it because it wasn't stable enough. Rolf questioned the absence of production by asking, "Why isn't this chair being manufactured?" I responded by saying, "Fifteen to twenty manufacturers have tried it, but they have all rejected the project for different reasons."
Even a famous American designer who was not Eames declared that something like that should not be called a "chair" because it was not suitable to sit on. The designer who made this statement was not Eames.
Rolf didn't waste any time and dialed the number of a Vitra technician named Manfred Diebold. [...] There would not have been a Panton Chair had it not been for Rolf.'
The year 1963 marked the beginning of a partnership between Vitra and Verner Panton, which resulted in the creation of one of the chair designs that is considered to be the most iconic of the 20th century.
It turned out to be a challenge that was almost impossible to complete because the bold contours that the designer had envisioned needed to be reconciled with the physical limits of plastics technology as well as the requirements of manufacturing.
It took several years of research, testing, and the elimination of designs in addition to the ongoing development of prototypes: the chair's final form was the culmination of ten prototypes made of manually laminated, glass-fiber reinforced polyester.
Verner Panton and the other developers at Vitra devoted their evenings and weekends to the project in order to work diligently and consistently on it.
In 1967, a cold-pressed glass-fiber reinforced polyester was utilized in the production of a small pilot series consisting of just 150 individual pieces.
It was the first chair made entirely of plastic to have a cantilever design and to be made in a single piece.
Its sculptural form of it, rendered in the vibrant colors that have become synonymous with Panton, caused quite a stir.
On the other hand, because the process was so time-consuming and difficult, we were unable to keep up with the subsequent demand.

In 1968, after additional tests with Bayer's rigid polyurethane foam proved to be successful, the company began producing the product in mass quantities using an innovative molding technique. This resulted in larger quantities, but the manual finishing was still labor-intensive and time-consuming.
Both Verner Panton and Vitra were dissatisfied with the existing conditions and never stopped looking for more desirable alternatives.
They had reason to believe that the answer could be found in a new thermoplastic material that had been developed by BASF.
The injection molding process significantly reduced the amount of finishing work that was required.
However, technology at that time did not permit variations in material thickness, which led to several modifications to the design.
The most noticeable of these changes was the addition of a series of ridges in the transition zone between the base and the seat.
Vitra's reputation is in jeopardy as a result of the material's unexpectedly low resistance to the effects of aging and the elements, which led to the destruction of the chairs and put the company in a bad light. 1979 was the year that marked the end of production a result.
Vitra was unable to fully recover from the shock of this quality defect for a number of years.
However, interest in the Panton Chair persisted over the years, and in 1990, Vitra resumed production of the chair.
At that time, they switched back to using rigid polyurethane foam, which required more complicated finishing but had a higher resistance to breaking.
In the 1990s, further developments in plastics technology and new options for injection molding inspired Vitra and Panton to pick up the project again with new material.

They came up with a brand new version made of polypropylene by collaborating closely with one another.
One of Verner Panton's primary objectives was ultimately accomplished thirty years after the initial launch of the product on the market: the plastic chair as an affordable industrial product. Verner Panton passed away in the weeks leading up to the 1999 presentation of the chair.
Investing in new ideas and technologies is one of Vitra's top priorities.
We make it our mission to continually push and broaden the horizons of design by fusing its technical and conceptual know-how with the imaginative abilities of the industry's most accomplished designers.
While this is going on, the design classics that we have in our portfolio are being continually updated in conjunction with the original designers or the designers' legal heirs in order to make them suitable for the requirements of modern users.
But what exactly is outdoor furniture made of resin?
There are many different options available to you if you are looking for furniture to put on your outdoor patio area.
Patio furniture, by its very nature of being placed outside in the open and subjected to the elements, requires that you give careful consideration to the pieces you choose to purchase.
The furniture in a cafe needs to be sturdy and easy to clean, but it also needs to have an inviting appearance that is pleasing to the eye.
The fact that polypropylene or plastic/resin outdoor cafe furniture fulfills all of the aforementioned requirements makes it an excellent choice.
It is extremely tough and long-lasting, very simple to clean, and can be purchased in a plethora of enticing patterns and dazzling hues to choose from.

In its most basic form, it is furniture made of plastic, but it has a variety of characteristics. The kinds of chemicals that are used in the production of plastic furniture can have an effect on the durability and UV resistance of the finished product.
In order to maintain a low price point, low-cost plastic furniture typically makes use of recycled plastics or other compounds.
The better quality commercial grade furniture is made from non-recycled materials and contains very little calcium carbonate.
Additionally, recycled materials are not used. It is highly unlikely that you are aware that a plastic chair has a high concentration of calcium carbonate, but there ought to be a label on the chair indicating that it is constructed from recycled plastic.
Unfortunately, recycling does not result in a chair made of plastic that is of high enough quality or durable enough to be used repeatedly.
The use of plastic furniture, particularly on outdoor patios, presents business owners with a number of advantageous opportunities.
Not only are they lightweight and long-lasting, but they can also be stacked, are very cost-effective, and come in a wide variety of colors and patterns.
Plastic and resin are long-lasting and sturdy materials because of the structure of their component parts; this is especially true when using high-quality resin.
Recyclable Plastic can be recycled, but when it is used in furniture, it does not have the same level of durability in terms of breaking or resistance to UV rays.
If you have the financial means, purchasing polypropylene furniture will end up saving you money in the long run due to the fact that it will last significantly longer than other types of furniture.
If you come across two chairs that are virtually indistinguishable in appearance but one of them is significantly more affordable than the other, it is only natural that you might be tempted to buy the chair that is more affordable.
Always make sure to read the labels to find out what ingredients are used in the production of the product. If one of the chairs is made of recycled plastic, you should select the one that is not.
The addition of particular compounds to plastic renders it UV resistant, even when exposed to direct sunlight; as a result, the patterns and colors on your furniture will take a great deal longer to show any signs of fading than they would otherwise.
The addition of UV compounds makes quality plastic chairs resistant to the deteriorating effects of sunlight and rain, making them ideal for outdoor use. Even the sun has difficulty affecting the appearance of these pieces of furniture.
Impact resistance – Resin can withstand abuse from customers, and it is very difficult (but not impossible) to chip or break high-quality plastic furniture. Resin can also withstand moisture.
Simple to clean The majority of resin furniture can be easily cleaned by rubbing it with a damp cloth that has been treated with a gentle cleaning cream that does not contain abrasives.
Quite frequently, items are molded in a single piece so that there are neither corners nor seams in which dust or other particles can accumulate.
