7. Return on Investment or ROI
Return on Investment, commonly known as ROI, is a frequently used term in economics and trade, yet most people—and even many traders—are unaware of it. Because of this lack of awareness, they often take no action regarding it.
In trade, the idea is that when you invest resources into something, you should assess whether this investment yields a return or not.
If there is a return, the trader continues because, for example, they put in one and took out two, which could continue year after year.
However, if an activity’s ROI falls below one, meaning it doesn’t even recover the initial investment, people will naturally stop repeating it.
A notable observation about Iranians, which the writer urges Aradi traders and employees not to emulate, is their lack of assigning monetary value to time.
Despite the popular motto that “time is gold,” which fills our social media feeds, the reality contradicts it.
People spend hours on Instagram, yet rarely ask themselves, “Am I earning at least a certain amount per hour for this time?”
And despite not earning anything from this time spent, they still continue doing it.
The same applies to movies, TV series, and games.
While it may be understandable for a wealthy person, it’s perplexing why someone who is not financially well-off and needs to convert their time into income would waste it like this.
This is a significant question in the writer’s mind, one for which he cannot seem to find an answer.
God, in His book, considers wealth and lives as assets that are traded and sold, and He states:
“Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs [in return] is the garden [of Paradise]” (Surah At-Tawbah, Ayah 111)
Thus, it is clear that both wealth and one’s very being are valuable resources that can be traded.
Human time is also a valuable asset that should be traded.
For example, Arad employees sell their time to Arad in exchange for their salaries.
To increase the value of this time and pay employees more per hour, Arad encourages employees to dedicate part of their day to business enterprise activities, regardless of their department. This adds value, allowing Arad to offer higher compensation for the working hours from 10 AM to 6 PM.
Some employees accept this and are happy.
Some are not interested and say that they are content to receive only the basic wage set by labor laws. They are willing to sell their time at this rate, either because they don’t believe their work is worth more or because they don’t want to earn more.
The same is true for traders.
In addition to paying for promotions, they invest their time. But based on our exact statistics, the time traders invest is significantly less than that of employees.
The same applies to foreign representatives, who also invest their time.
Regardless of whether we invest our wealth or our time and life, it should bring a return on investment.
When there is an ROI, naturally, the collaboration continues.
And how beautiful Arad is for having so many long-standing employees and traders.
This long tenure over the years reflects a satisfactory ROI, enough to keep these individuals engaged and motivated to continue.
Interestingly, the longer they stay, the more passionate they become.
Unlike many organizations, where people grow increasingly discontent with time, here at Arad, employees and traders grow happier and more fulfilled with each passing year.
Those who have been with Arad for years understand this well.
And now, we know why.
The ROI is high.
The return on their time and wealth has been substantial, and they have benefited well from their investment. As they reflect on the years they have spent, they realize that without Arad, they would never have reached this level of success, which deepens their passion.
They look at those around them outside of Arad, compare their situations, and feel grateful that they don’t face the same challenges. This gratitude leads them to thank God and pray for Arad’s senior managers.
We are not saying that Arad is flawless, but compared to the broader community, it feels ideal.
In any organization, in Iran or elsewhere, if you conduct an open survey, asking, for instance:
How satisfied are you with the government of Iran?
How satisfied are you with the education system?
How satisfied are you with the judiciary?
How satisfied are you with the police?
Allowing people to respond freely.
It is doubtful that they would score above 20 out of 100.
However, in Arad, this score is well above 80, possibly even 90.
Why?
Because here, the ROI—both in terms of financial investment and the time that people dedicate—is high.
8. How to Achieve High ROI at Arad?
If you do four things, your ROI will increase so much that only death could separate you from Arad.
The first key is to respond with yes and follow through whenever you’re asked to do something.
In most ideas and decisions made by Arad, your perspective might not fully grasp the benefits or wisdom behind the decision.
This is entirely natural.
If you or I were capable of recognizing the value of each decision immediately, there would be no difference between us and Arad’s senior managers.
They see something as beneficial for us that we might initially perceive as detrimental.
Likewise, they may recognize something as harmful that we might believe is beneficial.
I, too, was confused for several years due to this misjudgment, thinking some plans were set up for higher-ups to benefit while I would lose out.
Because of this, I hesitated to say “yes” easily and I fell behind.
So, the first lesson is to trust and say “yes” without hesitation.
If you look at those who have been with Arad for years, you’ll notice how readily they say “yes.”
Most of them are at Promotion 12.
Why?
Because they’ve experienced times when they thought a plan would harm them, only to realize later it was beneficial.
Over time, they have learned to close their eyes, like passengers who trust their driver, leaving the grand strategies to Arad. They only focus on devising strategies within the areas Arad does not oversee.
In the coming days, we’ll discuss three more essential actions for achieving a high ROI at Arad.
9. How Much Money Do We Lose Because We Don’t Understand People Well.
10. A trader should not have a passive personality type.
Most people have a passive personality type, meaning they are not initiators of any action and need movements to be imposed upon them.
In this passivity, they usually react stiffly, like stone or wood.
We Aradi traders practice becoming initiators of movements by leaving comments and reacting to posts on Telegram.
Reacting to business events is an important growth step for us.
11. Analysis of the Survey and Test Results of Traders and Business Owners from Yesterday
Yesterday, 1,338 traders participated in the test, and the score distribution was as follows.
- 20: 27%
- 18: 29%
- 16: 16%
- 14 and below: 28%
We believe that since the questions are clearly designed based on the text and no questions are taken from the videos, those who score 14 or below are not paying close attention. We feel sorry because their services are limited, and they won’t achieve the desired growth. We genuinely feel sad about this, but there's nothing we can do other than pray for them.
In the business enterprise owners' test, 961 people participated, with the results as follows.
- 20: 33%
- 18: 29%
- 16: 21%
- 14 and below: 17%
The survey question for traders was:
Which of the following is more destructive and dangerous for the economy and people's livelihood in today's world?
The answers were as follows:
The answers to the same question, if asked from the general public, would likely be as follows:
70% believe that a money-making idea is what they need.
20% believe they need the right information to make money.
9% think having a knowledgeable friend is key.
1% would say they need a well-meaning guide.
Overall, people do not believe in having someone show them the way.
They think they already have enough knowledge and just need the right idea to get rich.
This is why every time a new form of fraud emerges, it exploits people and then disappears.
After some time, another person comes up with a new idea and exploits them again.
Fraudsters manipulate people by reading their minds.
They know that people are looking for ideas, so they sell them false ideas.
However, Arad says that there’s no need for a new idea.
Our idea is trade, which has existed since the time of Prophet Adam (PBUH) and will continue until the end of time.
There is no need to look for new information, as the principles of trade are clear and can be learned for free from Arad.
What you need to become wealthy in the 21st century are two things.
1. A guide who shows you the way—this is what our senior managers provide.
2. A friend who walks alongside you through the hardships—this is what all Arad members are to each other.
Nothing more is needed.
We Aradis understand this with every fiber of our being, and we are happy for it.
But the general public doesn’t know this.
And it saddens me to see them in such ignorance.
But they don't even allow people to show mercy towards them, and if you try to do something good for them, they won't let you. They say, 'No one does something for nothing,' and with this proverb, they regard human goodwill as a lie.
May God have mercy on them, for they reject even the kindness of the compassionate.
And thank God for guiding us, the Aradis, to this understanding.
Truly, today’s surveys were ideal.
Let’s not forget about today’s test and the comments we left.
May God protect you all until tomorrow.
