11. Evidence and Documents
If you remember, a few days ago we talked about two words.
- Shahed (Witness)
- Al-Bayyina (Evidence)
A witness, derived from the word "shahada" (meaning to see), refers to someone who has directly observed an event with their own eyes.
In courts, you hear them say, "That person should come to testify," meaning they have seen the event and should describe it.
Bayyina refers to something that cannot be directly seen, but is explained with logical reasons and statements.
For example, a wife might suspect her husband and ask, "Where are you right now?"
The first situation: the husband says, "Let's do a video call," and since the wife sees it with her own eyes, she is a witness.
The second situation: the husband explains logically why the wife is suspicious and convinces her with his reasoning to stop doubting him.
The first situation becomes a witness and the second situation becomes evidence.
Now that we understand these two terms, I want to introduce you to two very important hadiths and then ask you what conclusion you draw from them.
The first hadith is from Imam Ali (PBUH), which we read a few days ago, where he advised traders not to swear an oath.
The second hadith is from Imam Reza (PBUH), which applies to everyone, not just traders. He said: "Where there is a witness or evidence, swearing an oath is not allowed."
This means that if I can present a witness or provide evidence to prove something, I cannot swear an oath.
Swearing is only allowed when there is neither a witness nor evidence, but even then, it is discouraged.
On one hand, religion tells us that when there is a witness or evidence, we cannot swear, and on the other hand, it advises traders not to swear oaths.
What conclusion do you draw from these two points?
I will leave some space for you to think, and then I will share the answer.

I believe you have guessed correctly, as I have thoroughly examined the topic and should have arrived at the right answer.
This means that, dear trader, if other people are allowed to swear an oath when they do not have a witness or evidence for their actions, you are not allowed to swear an oath. You must have both a witness and evidence so that there is no need for you to swear an oath.
Having a witness or evidence is an obligation for a trader, just as prayer and fasting are obligations for a person.
Providing a witness and evidence is also obligatory for a trader.
Now, I will elaborate on what witness and evidence mean in trade.
As we said, a witness refers to what can be seen with the eye.
For a customer to see something, so they cannot doubt it, what do you have in hand?
For example, business enterprise owners at Arad have videos showing the greatness and vastness of the company. When anyone sees these, they initially doubt whether this is really in Iran.
It is unlikely to see such a large and vast structure in Iran.
This means we must prove that these videos and photos are not from America or Europe, because in a country like Iran, where people are struggling and companies are constantly downsizing, the fact that such a massive structure grows more magnificent each day is itself a cause for doubt.
This means that Arad provides evidence that eliminates any doubts or suspicions from the other party, unless that person is biased, stubborn, or obstinate.
What evidence do you have as a trader?
Evidence in today’s world is either virtual or real.
Real evidence means a fancy office, many employees, classy desks and doors, formal and high-class attire, luxury cars, expensive accessories like mobile phones and watches, and even a phone line with a prestigious code, all of which give the impression that you are indeed a legitimate, serious trader.
Virtual evidence includes photos and videos that show you are impressive.
One of the many services that Arad provides to its traders, especially as their promotion level increases, is delivering such evidence to them. In simple terms, it benefits you significantly.
For instance, when you reach Promotion 9, you get the chance to attend meetings with foreign representatives and ambassadors, obtaining numerous photos and videos that are usually inaccessible to most other Iranian traders.
Or when you reach promotion level 5 or higher, you will have presentation meetings with foreign representatives, and the recorded video of this meeting will give you an advantage over your non-Aradi business competitors.
Every business meeting or negotiation, if filmed, becomes strong evidence that you are a professional trader.
So, gather as much solid evidence as you can to show you are a trader.
Now, let’s talk about evidence (Bayyina).
Bayyina (evidence) comes from the act of speaking, meaning the power of negotiation.
If it were up to me, I would say watch as many business school courses as you can.
Listen to the senior managers' business podcasts.
Attend the evening meetings from Saturday to Wednesday at 10 PM.
Do these three things for three months, and even if you were mute before joining Arad, you will find yourself speaking like a pro, with strong reasoning and logic.
Anyone who has even the smallest amount of honor can compare our comments in Arad with those found on other websites and social media, and they would undoubtedly say that this is a community of elites.
Here, a group of wise and enlightened individuals have gathered together.
This is the hangout of wise traders.
I swear to God that I myself learn so much from the comments that you esteemed individuals write.
Here’s a point I’ve written: I swear to God.
This is a kind of oath, as I cannot show you that I learn from them, nor can I provide any evidence. Therefore, I have used God's testimony.
If I could show you or provide evidence, it would not have been permissible for me to say, "I swear to God."
If anyone reads these comments, they will clearly see how different they are from other comments on websites.
Who are these people?
What kind of website is this?
I have often seen newcomers who say, "I don't know what to comment."
While these esteemed individuals have mastered commenting on other websites and social media platforms, here they find themselves at a loss for words.
Why?
Because other places allow any nonsense to be written, but here, that is not the case.
You know that everyone here knows each other, and if you try to say something irrelevant, you risk your reputation among a group of new and experienced traders.
So commenting here is much harder than on any other site. And we know that.
So, the number of comments here, which is unmatched on any other site, becomes the proof.
The largest websites with the least valuable content usually get only 500 comments, mostly saying "great article" or "this is silly."
But here, every day there are over a thousand comments, and praise be to God, some of them are longer than the original post. 🤣
The evidence is the reasoned and logical statements in the comments.
Now the question is, were these wise and eloquent commenters this way before joining Arad?
Or has watching the business school, listening to podcasts, and attending meetings turned these esteemed individuals into such wise people with eloquent and refined expressions?
I want to take this moment to thank all four of our dear Arad leaders, our beloved senior managers, for their patience in demolishing the old structures of our being and building elegant palaces in their place.
Each of us enjoys what we have become today.
How willing are you to go back to the past?
How willing are you to give up the knowledge that is in your heart today?
How willing are you to turn back your intellect to what it was before Arad?
We all owe this progress to the four beloved managers of Arad.
And I swear, I have made the most progress in terms of intellect and expression because I have spent more time than anyone else attending business school, podcasts, and meetings. So, I owe these four dear individuals more than any of you.
To summarize, if we want to succeed in business, we should avoid swearing oaths.
We can refrain from swearing only when we combine evidence and documentation with eloquent expressions.
We said that we have both real and virtual evidence, and Arad has provided both types of evidence for its traders. Naturally, those with lower promotions have fewer, while those with higher promotions have more.
Regarding Bayyina, Arad offers free spaces for traders to improve their reasoning and explanation skills. The more time, focus, and attention you give to it, the stronger you will become in reasoning and evidence.
Combining witness and evidence will turn you into a trade expert.
If we have time in the future, we will discuss how to present these pieces of evidence and reasoning to our clients and make them understand.
For now, keep your business weapons ready in your commercial armory, so when the time comes, you can use them to "shoot" in a way that makes your clients say, "I surrender, and I want to work with you."
Someone who has no weapon, no matter how much I tell them how to shoot, it won't be of any use.
It's like telling someone to look for a needle in a haystack.
