8. A Believer's Life Has Two Parts
A beautiful hadith from our master and leader, Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), whom we Iranians mourn and commemorate every year with love. But we must ask ourselves: as much as we passionately express our devotion, how do we truly follow his teachings in action?
He states: A believer's life has two parts.
Faith and Jihad (struggle).
Now, it is me and my God, and you and your God.
How strong is our faith in the mission we have?
How much do we struggle and strive for it?
Faith resides within a person’s heart, and no one but God, the One and Only, can bear witness to it.
Throughout many years of managing human resources, I have witnessed people's deceit and hypocrisy regarding their true beliefs.
Even in Arad, where I have been entrusted with leadership for several years, I have seen individuals who passionately express their unwavering commitment to business and Arad in their comments—only to disappear shortly after.
So neither will I be deceived by your proclaimed faith, nor should you be deceived by mine.
Only God knows the true faith of each of us in business, and no one else.
So please, do not deceive yourselves by saying, "I have a strong belief in business; why doesn’t Arad recognize me?"
The only one who can assess your faith is you, just as God says:
"People will testify against their own souls." (Surah Al-Qiyamah, Ayah 14)
But the second part of a believer's life is Jihad.
Jihad means effort, striving, and standing firm for one's faith.
Unlike faith, which is completely hidden, Jihad is entirely visible.
It can be seen, and everyone can bear witness to it.
Thus, we can discuss and evaluate each other’s level of Jihad in business. Who has struggled more in their trade?
There may be a person with a faith level of 50 but a Jihad level of 80, compared to someone with a faith level of 100 but a Jihad level of only 10.
The question is: Which one leads to the result?
Exactly! You are right.
The one who strives.
Because it is said:
"And that each person will only have what they endeavoured towards." (Surah An-Najm, Ayah 39)
If you have great faith but little effort, you will get nowhere.
Then, what is the role of faith?
The role of faith is precisely to increase Jihad.
Because I believe in business, throughout my years at Arad, except for a few days of leave, there has never been a day when I stopped my struggle in writing.
This is the role of my faith.
Otherwise, faith that does not lead to Jihad is worthless.
And this is precisely what God states:
"How many times has a small force vanquished a mighty army by the Will of Allah!" (Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayah 249)
What was the characteristic of these small groups?
Just a few words before this statement, He says:
"But those believers who were certain they would meet Allah reasoned." (Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayah 249)
So they were people with strong, unseen faith.
But did their faith alone bring victory?
No, dear one.
Their Jihad and efforts led to their victory.
How do we know?
Because God concludes this statement with:
"And Allah is with the steadfast." (Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayah 249)
Thus, their patience and perseverance ensured that God remained with them, granting them victory.
So we conclude: What leads to victory is patience and continuous effort.
Faith is simply a tool to help one patiently persevere in a chosen path.
Now, let me ask you.
Someone who believes in business but makes no effort—can they become a successful trader?
Certainly not.
But someone who lacks strong faith in business yet works hard—can they succeed in trade?
Yes, it is possible for someone to become a trader even without faith.
Many of you entered this field without a firm belief in trade. But as you achieved results, your faith gradually strengthened.
Now imagine someone who, with strong faith in God’s and the Prophet’s guidance on trade, engages in relentless, patient Jihad.
What an extraordinary outcome that would be!
So let us remember: Faith that does not lead to Jihad is worthless.
And Jihad without faith lacks persistence and patience.
These are like two wings, but the final strike and success come from Jihad.
9. Jihad Has Two Parts.
So, regarding belief and whether you have it or not, let it remain only in your heart, and there is no need to inform God about your beliefs.
Say, “Do you inform Allah of your faith, when Allah already knows whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth? And Allah has perfect knowledge of all things.” (Surah Al-Hujurat, Ayah 16)
So, you do not need to inform God about your belief regarding trade because He already knows.
There is no need to inform us or anyone else, as it does not serve any purpose.
What benefits Iran is your struggle in the path of trade.
Show how much your struggle is.
Now that you have understood this well, you must know that struggle also has two parts.
1. Struggle with your wealth
2. Struggle with yourself
In the Book of God, wherever the struggle with wealth is mentioned, the struggle with the self is also mentioned, and wherever the struggle with the self is mentioned, the struggle with wealth is also mentioned.
That is, you will not find a single verse in the Book of God that separates these two.
In other words, the structure of all the verses is similar to this one.
"And strive with your wealth and your lives in the cause of Allah."
(Surah At-Tawbah, Ayah 41)
Immediately after, He says:
"That is best for you if you only knew it." (Surah At-Tawbah, Ayah 41)
And interestingly, in all the verses, wealth is mentioned first, then the self.
Does this mean that God wants my wealth more than myself?
No, my dear.
God wants you.
But because He is your Creator and knows you well.
He knows that if you do not put your wealth into it, you will not come yourself either.
I myself have deeply realized this in Arad Branding over the past year.
Eighteen thousand people entered trade for free in the first half of the year, and today, not even ten of them remain.
Most of those with low promotion disappear in a short time, while those with high promotion, even if you tried to push them away, would not leave.
Why?
Because they have put in their money.
As the poet says, "Money is dearer than life itself."
God wants you, but He knows that if you invest your money elsewhere, you will be there too.
That is why He says: First, put your wealth into the struggle in the way of God.
If you put in your wealth, you will come yourself.
Among them, there are those who say: "We invest our money in trade, but we do not make any effort."
Arad says: We do not want this.
And God says the same in response to those who said to the Prophet:
"And when a surah was revealed, [stating], 'Believe in Allah and strive alongside His Messenger,' the rich among them would ask to be exempt, saying, 'Leave us with those who remain behind.'" (Surah At-Tawbah, Ayah 86)
Meaning, they wanted their wealth to struggle on their behalf while they themselves remained absent, i.e., struggle with wealth but not with the self.
God responds to them:
"They preferred to stay behind with the helpless, and their hearts have been sealed so they do not comprehend." (Surah At-Tawbah, Ayah 87)
Then He continues:
"But the Messenger and the believers with him strived with their wealth and their lives. They will have all the best, and it is they who will be successful." (Surah At-Tawbah, Ayah 88)
Thus, the fate of those who invested their wealth but did not engage in personal struggle is clear.
Now, what about those who fully engage themselves in struggle but do not invest their wealth?
Or those who claim they do not have wealth to contribute?
What is their fate?
God has exempted them from struggle.
What does this mean?
It means that God says: "I did not even ask you to struggle in My way."
That is, if you do not have wealth, you are not even worthy of struggling in the way of God.
I am sure many who do not know me will get confused reading this, but those who do know me understand that I do not speak from myself.
Dear one, if you do not have wealth, God does not ask for struggle from you.
Just as He has exempted children and elderly people on the verge of death from struggle.
just as He has exempted bedridden patients from struggle.
you, who do not have money to engage in struggle, are also exempt.
God does not even accept struggle from you.
If you pay attention, all the verses about struggle are in Surah At-Tawbah, and you can study the chapter with its interpretations and explanations in detail.
A few verses before the verse where God clarified the fate of those who gave money but did not personally engage in struggle, He also clarified the fate of those who do not give money or claim they do not have it and put all of themselves into struggle. And He clearly states: "I do not want you either."
"There is no blame on the weak, the sick, or those lacking the means if they stay behind, as long as they are true to Allah and His Messenger." (Surah At-Tawbah, Ayah 91)
That means, if you say, "I have no money to struggle," you are like the weak, the elderly, and the sick—you are exempt from struggle.
Forget about struggle.
Even among them, there were those who were very eager to engage in struggle and were willing to give their lives, but they had no wealth.
God has mentioned their story in the next verse:
"Nor is there any blame on those who came to you O Prophet for mounts, then when you said, 'I can find no mounts for you,' they left with eyes overflowing with tears out of grief that they had nothing to contribute."
(Surah At-Tawbah, Ayah 92)
So, if you send your wealth but do not come yourself, God does not want it.
If you come yourself but do not send your wealth, or do not have it at all, again, God does not want it.
God wants both your wealth and yourself together in the struggle, and this is how He accepts struggle from His servants.
10. Criteria for Selecting Provincial Office Managers
Some individuals do not pay attention to the fact that Arad Branding has never taken and will never take loans, God willing.
No institution or organization provides it with a budget like the funds allocated from the public treasury to various entities.
Therefore, every expense must be funded from a legitimate source.
Where does Arad's money come from?
1. Promotion fees
2. The 10% profit share from trades
Other organizations, upon receiving funds, tend to save most of it for themselves and invest only a small portion in operations.
Arad, however, does the opposite—it invests most of its income into operations and keeps only a small portion for itself.
The difference lies in this very point.
Thus, one must understand that no work can progress without money.
The cost of maintaining a commercial office with at least 20 traders is at a minimum of 1 billion tomans per year, and in reality, this expense exceeds 2 billion tomans.
Now imagine Arad placing 20 traders with a promotion level of one, two, or even five and seven in such an office.
The total amount they contribute does not even cover half of the office's costs, not to mention that office expenses are not the only costs involved.
In exchange for promotions, you also receive services from the employees.
In my opinion, Arad has constrained itself to allocate 10% of the promotion fees towards the provincial offices.
Therefore, it is natural to require that office managers meet at least one of the following financial conditions.
Either be in promotion levels 10, 11, and 12 or contribute 10% of your trade profit so that these funds can be used to cover office expenses.
But is meeting these financial conditions alone sufficient?
Arad says no.
This only covers the financial struggle (Jihad of wealth).
Your personal presence is also required (Jihad of self).
I have been informed that three traders—one from Isfahan, one from Tabriz, and one from Sari—fully met the financial conditions for office management.
All three had high promotion levels. However, their participation in comment sections was inconsistent.
Arad's only way of determining your presence is through comments.
When registration for provincial office management opened, 4,853 individuals signed up.
So, the numbers are there. However, Arad's criteria are based on comments.
When reviewing the comments, only about 600 participants are regularly active.
These individuals are considered active traders.
If someone follows the content but does not even take a moment to leave a comment, how can we count on them?
How can Arad confirm the presence of over 4,000 registrants when they leave no trace?
You recognized God, the Lord of the worlds, through His signs. So how can a person be recognized without any signs of presence?
These three esteemed traders from Isfahan, Tabriz, and Sari, in the past 10 days, left comments on 6, 5, and 5 days, respectively.
Arad believes that if they were appointed as office managers, their attendance would likely follow a similar pattern—being present for some days and absent for others. This would lead to an unstable office environment.
Thus, they have not been appointed, and Arad will wait.
We will wait until those who demonstrate both financial and personal commitment at an acceptable level emerge.
Some may argue that this might lead to certain provinces not having an office at all.
Well, if not even one individual in an entire province is willing to invest financially in trade and personally commit to being active, then it is better not to have an office in that province at all.
Thus, the criteria for selecting office managers are:
1. High promotion level or 10% trade profit contribution
2. Consistent presence in the comments to demonstrate engagement
If the three aforementioned traders improve their engagement in the coming days, the provincial office management will be granted to them.
11. Office managers for five provinces have been appointed.
Yesterday, 9 office managers were appointed, and today, 5 more office managers will be assigned.
- Shahab Safari for Ilam
- Karim Javanbakht for Shahrekord
- Alireza Javadi for Isfahan
- Mohammad Ali Zeinali Sharifabad for Kerman
- Hamid Farahani for Qom
The necessary coordination for acquiring and equipping the commercial office will be carried out with the appointed managers.
