Today, machine-made carpet, especially Persian ones, has become an integral component of many people's homes throughout the globe. Considering that machine-made carpet is an expensive product, selecting one that combines excellent quality and longevity with a reasonable price has become crucial. This is especially true when you consider that the appearance of a machine-made carpet cannot be compared to its quality and durability! Unlike hand-woven carpets, machine-made carpet is a synthetic carpets woven by industrial machinery. Due to the speed of production and the low cost of the raw materials, the price is lower than that of a hand-woven carpet. Among its advantages are the simplicity of its execution, the superior pattern, and the higher quality of all types of artistic and personal images on the carpet. Various machines, such as Texima, Vandville, Shonher, Alpha, CRX, ASR, VTR, etc., make machine-made carpets. Each carpet may be made of acrylic, BCF, a combination of these two, or new synthetic silk (polyester) fibers. It should be highlighted that 100% acrylic carpets are of greater quality and cost, but synthetic silk carpets and comb-based carpets are currently considered the best flooring on global markets due to their lack of fluff, ease of cleaning, and excellent stability and shine. They are separated into 350, 440, 500, 700, 1000, 1200, 1500, 1600, and, as of late, 1700 combs. Carpets can have a density between 700 and 4500 depending on the type of machine and comb. Notably, there are also carpets with the name patina; the patina carpet is one of the current carpets made in the traditional manner.
- Shoulder and density as a notion
Previously, we covered density and shoulder in passing; now, we will discuss it in depth. Each carpet has two types of density: longitudinal and transverse. Density throughout the width of the carpet (comb): Comb refers to the number of roots (color nodes) in one meter of the breadth of the carpet. For instance, a 500 comb carpet indicates that 500 roots (color knots) are woven into each meter of breadth. Typically, there are 320-350-380-400-440-500-700-1000-1200-1500 combs on the market. Length density (density) of the carpet: It is the number of carpet roots (color nodes) per meter of carpet length. For instance, a carpet with a density of 700 indicates that there are 700 woven roots (color knots) per one meter of the carpet's length. Typical market densities are as follows: 700-800-900-1000-1400-2550-3000. There are 3200-3600-4500 rows.(Also, the longitudinal density of machine-woven carpets varies due to the various weaving techniques) The number of roots (color nodes) per square meter of carpet, calculated by multiplying transverse density by longitudinal density. For instance, if the number of color knots in the width is 700 and the number of color knots in the length is 900, then the number of roots (color nodes) in a square meter is 630/000 = 900x700. Density is always bigger than a comb, and the product of comb and density is the number of thread heads per square meter; the product of comb and density divided by 2 or 3 (depending on the type of carpet weaving machine) is the number of knots per square meter.
Persian carpet
The sort of fibers and materials used to make a Persian carpet is a significant topic of discussion while discussing these rugs. What type of automobile carpeting should we choose? Wool, acrylic, polyester, polypropylene, and nylon are five types of carpets that can be distinguished by their fibers. The characteristics of each of these rugs are described in the sections that follow.
- Woolen carpets:
A woolen carpet is one constructed with wool yarn (which is usually obtained from sheep). Since wool is a natural fiber, it is durable. It does not absorb dust either. Because wool rugs are soft, they have many admirers. This sort of carpet is durable and heat-absorbing. It does not stain easily and may be easily cleaned if it does. If your room is located in a colder portion of the home than other rooms, try a wool carpet. Obviously, because it absorbs moisture, it is not appropriate for humid environments. This rug is perfect for high-traffic areas such as the living room or dining room due to its durability. The majority of wool carpets are constructed from 100% wool yarn. However, some of these carpets contain impurity. Consequently, carpets with 80% wool and 20% nylon or polypropylene are known as mixed wool carpets. 30% of the carpet market is comprised of carpets manufactured with polypropylene thread, popularly known as Olefin. This type of carpet is very resistant to moisture and mildew, making it excellent for humid regions. This carpet is appropriate for heavy-traffic areas, particularly children's bedrooms, because of its high durability, resistance to stain absorption, and ease of cleaning. In addition, because these carpets are so plush, they can also be used in the bedroom.
- Nylon carpets:
Nearly two-thirds of the fibers in machine-produced carpets are made of nylon. These fibers are dust- and mold-resistant. In addition, they support the weight of furniture and other household things well. Nylon carpets are manufactured in a variety of attractive hues. This carpet is quite durable. Obviously, nylon carpets lose their color with time and become pale. In terms of cost, nylon is the most expensive synthetic fiber. Therefore, this carpet is more expensive than synthetic-fiber carpets like polyester. Almost two-thirds of carpet fibers produced by machines are made of nylon.
- Carpet purchase guide
Today, there are numerous designs and patterns of carpets with varying densities and combs on the market, and they mislead buyers into purchasing machine-made carpets, prompting the question, which type of carpet should I purchase? First, one of the most crucial factors to consider when purchasing a carpet is how and where it will be utilized. For example, the carpet in the living room typically receives heavy foot activity, whereas the carpet in the bedroom or kitchen typically receives less foot traffic. Consider a robust and resistant carpet for high-traffic areas and a soft carpet with a lively color for low-traffic regions when selecting a carpet for these locations. High-density carpets, such as 1200 comb machine carpets, are excellent for the reception hall, while low-density carpets, such as 700 comb machine carpets, are suitable for the bedroom. Second, when selecting the best machine-made carpet, we should also consider our lifestyle. If you have children or dogs at home, you should choose carpets with a busy design and pattern to conceal dirt. And if you have a small family, you can use brightly colored carpets with fewer patterns and designs.
- Guide to Purchasing Manufactured Carpets, Manufactured Carpets
Always attempt to purchase a carpet that is at least 0.5 meters from the walls. Thirdly, if you are considering a carpet for an area that is exposed to dust and grime, dark background carpets, such as navy blue background carpets, carbon blue background carpets, and petroleum blue background carpets, are ideal. They are unsuitable for such locations because they reveal the soil, and the carpets on the cream-colored floor also reveal footprints. Carpets with almond and walnut backgrounds are the most suitable for dust-prone areas. The fourth point is that the majority of individuals make a mistake when they purchase a machine-made carpet for the whole perimeter of their property. Always attempt to purchase a carpet that is at least half a meter from the walls, so that the rear legs of furniture such as sofas can be placed on the floor. Never use the same color to match the carpet and sofa, and always use contrasting colors such as white and black or cream and brown to make the home furniture appear more lovely and attractive. The house's size and ambiance are dulled by the monochromatic furnishings. If you are considering a carpet for a small place and want the home space to appear larger, use carpets with a light background because they make the home space appear larger than it is. If you are considering a carpet for a very large and secluded place, choose a carpet with a busy pattern and a dark background to make the space and environment of the house more attractive and lively. Dark carpets offer a nice, warm, and intimate environment.
