1. Always be available to meet people's needs.
In a chaotic world where every day brings a new incident, a group of people walks a glorious path.
A path formed not only for their own comfort but for meeting the needs of others.
This group is the noble and influential class known as “traders.”
Trade is not just a tool for making money.
If it were, God would not entrust 90% of the world’s sustenance to traders.
This privilege exists only because of a significant responsibility:
“Meeting the needs of God’s creation.”
A trader who truly understands this word will never see trade as merely a way to earn wealth. Instead, they see it as worship disguised as work, and service embodied in production and distribution.
But the bitter truth is that traders are divided into two groups.
The first group, the majority, thrives and remains active as long as the market is calm.
But the moment a crisis begins, they retreat to safety.
They flee the market and their responsibilities, leaving the people who relied on them behind.
They are traders who “stand with the people” — but only in times of ease.
The second group is rare, but they shine brightly.
They trade not for profit, but for humanity.
When hard days come, they do not back down.
They stay with the people.
Sometimes they reduce their profit. Sometimes they stay up through the night to ensure timely delivery and supply.
But they never abandon the field.
An Aradi trader should belong to this second group.
The customer will remember who stood by them and who left them alone.
The supplier will remember which trader stood behind them like a mountain.
And God is the most aware of all.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) said:
«التّاجِرُ الجَسُورُ مَرزُوقٌ وَ التّاجِرُ الجَبَانُ مَحرُومٌ»
The brave trader is blessed with sustenance and success, while the cowardly one is deprived and unsuccessful.
Trade is not a field for fear.
It is a field of courage and loyalty.
We have entered this field for humanity, honor, and building a brighter future.
And God never leaves the effort of any faithful servant unrewarded.

3. Fear is the brother of death.
In our time, the most dangerous enemy of humans — what dries up lives at the roots and destroys the future — is fear.
Fear is a silent poison that slowly kills hope, movement, effort, and faith.
Most people don’t die from enemies, poverty, or disease —
they die from the fear of the enemy, fear of poverty, and fear of illness.
🔹 Fear: more deadly than any weapon
Imam Ali (peace be upon him) said:
«الخَوفُ شَقیقُ المَوتِ»
Fear is the brother of death.
(Ghurar al-Hikam, No. 1722)
It means if fear enters your heart, though you are not yet dead, it’s as if your soul is already buried.
Your eyes no longer see.
Your hands stop working.
Your mouth is silenced.
When fear settles in the human heart, there is no uprising, no thriving economy, and no dignity born.
🔹 Fear: the great barrier to provision
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) said:
«لَا يَنبَغِي لِلْمُؤمِنِ أَنْ يَكُونَ جَبَاناً وَ لَا حَرِيصاً»
A believer should not be cowardly or greedy.
(Nahj al-Fasahah, No. 3018)
This is not just a moral lesson.
If you become afraid, you are no longer a believer.
Because faith means trust in God.
It means if you are afraid in trade, exports, product launches, branding, negotiations, or any economic move — you become ineffective.
🔹 A cowardly trader is always deprived
Again, Imam Ali (peace be upon him) said:
«الجُبْنُ مَنْقَصَةٌ»
Cowardice is a flaw.
(Nahj al-Balagha, Wisdom 17)
In the school of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), the cowardly trader has no place.
Because once fear takes hold, you avoid negotiations.
You stop sourcing products.
You don’t call the client.
You don’t invest in growing your trade.
And the result?
You fall behind, face poverty, regret, blame others, and ultimately fade into inactivity and oblivion.
🔹 Courage: the beginning of blessing and salvation
Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said:
«الشّجاعةُ عِزٌّ حاضرٌ، و الغَناءُ فَقْدُهُ ذُلٌّ ظاهِرٌ»
Courage is a present honor, and lacking sufficiency is an evident humiliation.
(Bihar al-Anwar, Vol. 71, p. 381)
When you have courage, you no longer blame limitations for your failures.
You stop making excuses for having empty hands.
You rise.
You speak.
You find products.
You attract clients.
You grow.
In trade, it is courage that makes the first phone call.
It is courage that handles the first rejection.
It is courage that spends to grow the brand and cares deeply.
🔹 Fear leads to dependency; courage leads to independence
Nations that feared the enemy became dependent.
Individuals who feared failure remained jobless.
Traders who feared investment ended up working for others.
But those who had courage — they conquered the world, captured markets, and became part of history.
Fear doesn’t just destroy your trade — it ruins your life.
Let’s, with remembrance of God, with trust, with awareness of the verses, with understanding of the narrations, and by returning to reason, drive this silent enemy from our hearts.
Let’s choose courage. Because God's promise is clear:
«إِن تَنصُرُوا اللَّهَ يَنصُرْكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَكُمْ»
(Surah Muhammad, Verse 7)
If you help God, He will help you and make your steps firm.
And what greater help than stepping onto the path of honor, economy, service, production, and trade?

5. The Fante People: A Nation Victorious Amidst War
In the heart of history, there’s a nation that, during times of war and hardship, relied on commerce to bring powerful enemies to their knees: the Fante people on the coast of Ghana.
1. Pioneers of Trade under Colonial Yoke
From the 15th century, Portuguese sailors arrived on the Gold Coast (modern-day Ghana) and tried to control trade.
But the Fante, with a strong commercial nature, not only engaged but also set the boundaries.
They acted as intermediaries between European traders and local tribes, gained privileges, and amassed great wealth.
2. A Unified Alliance Against Threats
In the 19th century, when the Portuguese and Dutch sought greater control over the coasts, the Fante stood together as a defined confederation.
Their unified political system enabled quick and coordinated decisions; a unique example of economic power and social order.
3. Trade as the Engine of Resistance
When Europeans imposed unjust laws, the Fante people responded by halting exports and blocking trade packages.
One of their most powerful resistance tools was this strategy: a tactic that said, “We demand equal trade or no cooperation at all.”
These organized responses formed the backbone of their economic resistance strategy.
4. The Battle of Elmina and Dutch Withdrawal
In a historic move, they launched a siege on the European Elmina fortress, and the Dutch were forced to withdraw out of fear of commercial defeat.
This economic and strategic victory laid the foundation for shifting the balance of power on Ghana’s transatlantic coast.
5. A Commercial Legacy for Today
The Fante demonstrated that:
-
Wealth is not only born in peace but can also be a weapon of victory in conflict.
-
Trade without dignity and independence is fruitless.
-
When people enter trade organized and united, even the strongest colonizers can be brought to the negotiation table — not as dominators but as counterparts.
💡 Practical Lessons for Today:
-
Trade is not just a job — it is a powerful tool for resistance.
-
To win economically, we need minds like the founders of the Fante — cohesive, united, and intelligent economic thinking.
-
In tough times, we must not fear external pressures; we must build a strong economic command center with wisdom.
🔚 Conclusion
In challenging times, the Fante people showed:
📍 With a strategic view of trade, we overcome dependency.
📍 With unity and market regulation, we can stand against the powerful.
📍 With resource management and economic negotiation, we can change the course of history.
This inspiring story should be shared worldwide to show that trade can secure a nation’s victory, even in times of war and crisis.
