☑️ For products under the supervision of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of Ghana, such as specific food products, cosmetics, and drugs, the importer or representative requests to be registered with the FDA as an importer and register the product for import through ICUMS (Integrated Customs Management System) for FDA import, which is valid for one year.
The importer pays a specific fee for food items (0.8%), drugs (1.8%), and cosmetics (0.5%).
⚠️ Failure to declare dangerous goods by manufacturers results in penalties, suspension, or revocation of their activity license.
These goods are generally classified into 9 categories, which include:
1. Explosive materials
2. Hazardous gases
3. Flammable liquids
4. Flammable solids
5. Oxidizing substances and organic peroxides
6. Toxic and infectious substances
7. Radioactive materials
8. Corrosive substances
9. Miscellaneous hazardous materials
Ships without dangerous goods, whether containerized or non-containerized, must declare the non-transport of dangerous goods through a separate declaration.

👌 To clear goods in Tanzania, according to the East African Community Customs Management Act (EACCMA), import procedures must be followed.
🔴 Importing into Tanzania involves various stages where importers are advised to declare their importation through a customs clearing and transportation agency by providing a minimum of 7 documents.
💥 A few days before the arrival of the vessel, the importer is required to designate an authorized Customs Clearing and Forwarding Agent (CFA) for clearing the goods.
✅ The documentation process is done online through the Tanzania Customs Integrated System (TANCIS) for imports and exports and can be completed before the arrival of the goods.
