Michael remained in his position as the company's president of manufacturing, but he resigned once Nike outsourced its manufacturing. Later, he established Maine Shoe Co., which Allen Edmonds acquired in 1998. After Cole Haan closed its Lewiston factory and relocated production overseas, Michael acquired it back and co-founded Rancourt & Co. with his son Kyle. Since then, Rancourt has maintained its history of making hand-sewn leather shoes in Maine with materials obtained locally. And in 2010, the company introduced its own brand and a make-to-order line that was offered directly to customers after decades of contract manufacturing. 
- Wolverine
The Wolverine shoe brand is a division of Rockford, Michigan-based Wolverine Worldwide Inc., a publicly traded American shoe company. It is also well-known for producing leather shoes for companies including Caterpillar, Harley-Davidson Saucony, Sperry, Keds, and Stride Rite in addition to its other brands, which include Hush Puppies and Merrell.
