There are numerous reasons why everyone should serving their vegetables (here are 1! ), but one of the most important is that spiralized vegetables are more nutritious than "normal" noodles.
We're not suggesting that you quit eating "normal" spaghetti and noodles, but if you're concerned with keeping a balanced diet, spiralized veggies give a greater nutritious return on investment.
Let's compare the nutritional profile of spaghetti and zucchini noodles, sometimes known as "zoodles.
" There are other vegetable varieties that can be spiralized, but as zoodles are the most popular, we'll start there!
A remark on portion size
We suggest spiralizing around 1 pound of zucchini each serving (for a substantial lunch or supper) — that's roughly two medium-sized zucchinis or 2 cups of cooked zucchini.
The serving size of cooked ordinary wheat spaghetti is less than one cup; it is really around three-quarters of a cup.
Who would want to consume so little food? You are already losing with traditional spaghetti since you cannot consume as much!
To compare apples to apples, 1 cup of cooked zucchini noodles is compared to 1 cup of cooked wheat spaghetti.

Spaghetti vs.
Zoodles
Now let's compare!
If you prefer to consume big quantities of food, zucchini noodles (and spiralized vegetables in general!) are your buddy.
When comparing two cups of noodles (pasta vs.
zoodles), conventional wheat spaghetti contains more than FIVE times the calories and almost SIX times the amount of carbs as zoodles.
Regular spaghetti has more protein than zucchini noodles, so keep that in mind if you're a vegetarian who uses wheat pasta as a source of protein.
The variations in sugar and salt cannot be compared since wheat spaghetti is processed and zucchini noodles are fully natural - the sugar and sodium quantities are a natural component of the vegetable and have not been added or processed.
