Driveway Sealer

Because the BIG Gilsonite Sealer is already pre-mixed and ready to use, we do not advocate adding any aggregates like sand to it; however, you are free to do so if the circumstances call for it. Sand can be added in one of two methods, the first of which is to distribute it evenly across the top of the area that has been sealed off, and the second of which is to include it into the product itself. Since the BIG Gilsonite Sealer is a solvent-based product, you should be aware that it can catch fire. Never bring this product up to temperature using a torch or other "open heating" type of equipment. Doing so will keep the product away from open flames, which is very important. 
In addition, the fact that this sealer is based on a solvent makes it more challenging to apply with the conventional spray methods used for applying seal coating. If the rubber seals and hoses are not made to withstand the solvent solutions, they may eventually be consumed by the solvent and rendered useless.
