Juicy Couture became an instantly recognizable name in women's clothing in the early 2000s. When Juicy initially opened its doors in 1995, the economy was just starting to recover from the crisis that had lasted from 1990 to 1991, and customers were eager to purchase things that were either costly or at the very least had the impression of being expensive. Therefore, Nash-Taylor and Skaist-Levy desired the brand name to have an air of opulence about it. They also enjoyed the irony that came with giving their range of comfortable T-shirts the name "couture." Juicy Couture swiftly became more well-known and extended its product offerings to include knit shirts, accessories, and a very profitable brand of jeans called Juicy Jeans. However, it was not yet established as the full-fledged lifestyle brand that its creators intended for it to become. Both the first Juicy V-neck and the style of the tracksuit that would go on to become the brand's trademark piece were designed with the intention of being as figure-flattering as is humanly feasible. The hoodie with the zipper across the front was created with front pockets to conceal any stomach pooch and was made in the form of an hourglass to cinch in your waist. In order to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the turn of the century tracksuit, Juicy Couture has promised a revival of its luxury cotton-rich material. Amy Gibson, the head of design at Juicy, referred to the brand's signature luxurious cotton-rich fabrication as a "secret weapon that we kept back for the appropriate moment." She then cited summer as the best time to announce its comeback in the "perfect salute to our beloved tracksuit." Customers shopping for athleisure apparel are looking for fabrics that are breathable and lightweight, and the luxurious velour has a thick pile on top of a cotton foundation. The original tracksuit has had its low-rise waistline, which was described as being "nearly hazardous," replaced with a mid-rise waistband, which is more forgiving, and the characteristic trimmings have also been updated. The new release consists of six different new colorways, which are called lemon drop, black, sugar swizzle, calm grey, mint, and raspberry rose respectively. Gibson made a reference to the "rich visual language" of the extensive Juicy archive. In doing so, he paid respect to the first celebrity muses of the brand from the 2000s, also known as the "LA North Stars," who were early endorsers of the JC tracksuit. "In our minds, the most important thing was to determine how people wore it back then and what they cherished most about it. After that, we worked out how to make that plan work for 2021," she says.
